I mean, clearly. Without Squarespace there wouldn’t be much of a website to see here. But in all seriousness, they’ve done a lot to help me get my ideas and business of the ground. Without them, I’d have a much harder time doing the work I love for you.
They have best in class website creation tools, super helpful customer support, and a brand that you can trust.
If you think that social media is the be all and end all of customer interaction and support, then you’re missing a huge opportunity to connect with your loving fans. ConvertKit is email marketing done right.
I always found Mailchimp to be a bit confusing. It felt like I was fighting with it every time I went there. Squarespace now has email marketing, but it’s still got a ways to go. ConvertKit is where it’s at, friend. They offer the simplest email automation service I’ve ever seen. Plus, it’s straight up gorgeous looking and dang pleasant to use.
Running a business (especially if you’re going all lone wolf at it) can be a scheduling and task management nightmare if you don’t have strong support on your side. Trello is more than up to that task.
Whether it’s keeping track of all the things you need to do for a huge project, collaborating with coworkers, or even planning a home remodel, Trello’s got your back. It uses a Kanban style task management system that just makes sense. They’ve got a great free version and it can scale up to meet any of your business needs without breaking a sweat. And their mascot’s pretty cute, too.
Everybody will tell you that Adobe products such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign are the way to go if you are pursuing any creative endeavor centered around a computer. I’m telling you now that there are other options out there that get the job done just as well (and without all the nonsense that comes with being an unruly mess of a product).
The Affinity suite of programs—Designer, Photo, and Publisher—are my preferred creative production tools. They’re crazy powerful, they’re beautiful to look at, and they don’t come with an insanely priced recurring subscription.
Or Overcast. Or Pocket Casts (for you iOS and Android fans). Or any podcast player really. The point is if you’re not subscribed and listening to any of the many amazing podcast shows available out there (nearly every single one of them for free), then you’re missing out. Big time.
Castro is my preferred way to listen to podcasts. Yeah, Apple’s Podcasts app gets the job done, but there’s so much you’re missing out on by settling for that one. I’m talking episode triage, silence trimming, voice enhancement, and a whole lot more. It’s one of my favorite things in the whole world.
Ah yes, the big business daddy. The company that runs it all. The one that I’ve hitched my wagon to as I travel on my merry business way.
They’re actually not bad at all (despite requiring permission to use their official logo here) and they help me get so much done every single day. I have a feeling that Dandy Cat Design would be a very different company without the Google apps. If you need strong business tools, then you can’t go wrong here.
